Harry Potter: A History of Magic at the British Library Fri 20 October 2017 – Wed 28 February 2018


Journey to where magic and myth began. Combining original material from Rowling, snippets from Bloomsbury publishers and a wealth of ancient wizarding artefacts from the British Library archives, this exhibition will include Rowling's hand-written draft of the Sorting Hat Song (complete with crossings out), original illustrations by Jim Kay and an incredibly rare print of a witch's cauldron, dating back to 1480.




Pumpkin party and spooky storytelling. They'll also be making gruesome goblin decorations with gourds for you to take home, and a face painter will be on hand to finish off your scary costumes. There'll be storytelling inside the windmill and at the end of the event they'll light up the carved pumpkins as the sun sets on Windmill Gardens.


24 October


Take a journey across the world and meet the animals that used to arrive at the docks in this retelling of the much loved story of Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell. Afterwards, test out different materials to build a crate to keep your animal safe on their travels.



27 October



Don your scariest Halloween costume and trick-or-treat your way around the galleries by torchlight, collecting sweets as you answer questions about London's history. Sneak through our dark and eerie recreated Victorian street and help the charismatic baker's wife solve a spooky crime. Listen to some terrifying tales from 19th century London, including the monstrous story of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and the infamous barber of Fleet Street.




23-27 October


A great way to keep kids active and busy during the holidays/weekends. Each day consists of inline skating (rollerblading) and skateboarding. Attendance can be for just inline skating or skateboarding (half days), one day of both or the full five days camp.
